The United High School is organized around a Junior High / Senior High structure.
- It has a professional staff of 55.
- Six-hundred and thirty students attend United Jr. /Sr. High School.
- The high school has three computer labs, eight mobile wireless computer labs, and renovated science and technology labs.
- Seven Advanced Placement courses are offered. They include AP English Literature, AP Economics, AP Physics, AP Computer Science, AP Calculus, AP Biology and AP Chemistry. Students also earn MOS (Microsoft Office Suite) certification through course work.
- Curriculums for the following areas have been updated in the last five years: Science, Mathematics, Business/Computer Education, Technology Education, Social Studies and Communications.
- The Mathematics program focuses on an integrated approach where all students are exposed to algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics.
- Spanish and French are offered as World Languages.
- Offers a range of classes for special needs students from Life Skills to Gifted.
- Offers Child Development classes through the Family and Consumer Science department.
- UHS Library contains in excess of 17,000 volumes and has 12 Internet connected research stations.
- Sponsors a Community Library on Tuesday evenings.
- Supports an active and award winning FFA program.
- Students may elect to participate in vocational programs at the Indiana County Technology Center.
- Employs two full time Guidance Counselors.
- Maintains a Student Assistance Program (SAP).
- Offers a variety of fine art related activities such as; Art classes, Marching Band, Stage Band, Chorus, Jazz Choir and Plays.
- Schedules a school-related activities, such as; Homecoming, Gnimocemoh, Dances, Pep Rallies, Blood Drives, Food Drives, Prom, Senior Trip, Senior Night, and End of the Year School Picnic.
- Provides students with the opportunity to participate in eleven varsity sports.
- Offers Adult education courses.
