MTSS / PBIS Framework
MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support)
Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is the practice of matching students’ needs to high-quality, evidence-based instruction, intervention, and enrichment. Universal screening data is used to make informed decisions that will support students’ academic growth and achievement. At United School District, MTSS Core Teams meet to review student academic data and determine the needs for tiered interventions to support student growth and learning.

PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports)
Schoolwide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) is a proactive approach to discipline that promotes appropriate student behavior and increased social learning opportunities. Traditionally, models of school discipline tend to be reactive with no opportunities for social emotional learning to take place. PBIS systems develop a comprehensive system of behavior support tailored to individual school and student needs. At United School District, PBIS Core Teams meet to review student behavioral data and determine the needs for tiered interventions to support the social emotional growth of our students.
