Comprehensive Plan
The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires school districts to develop a Comprehensive Plan every three years. This process is a continuous process that helps districts ensure students achieve high levels of success. The Comprehensive Planning process includes the following sections:
Profile, Core Foundations, Assurances, Needs Assessment, Action Planning, and Plan Submission.
The Comprehensive Planning process helps districts:
Reflect on and plan for student performance
Monitor and adjust programs and processes
Develop a mission and vision
Establish goals and objectives
Address continuous improvement in leadership, teaching, and learning
The Comprehensive Planning process is guided by a consistent framework for all school districts. It involves gathering feedback from stakeholders through meetings, and ensuring that representatives from a variety of groups are involved in the process. These groups include business representatives, community leaders, parents, school board members, and school staff.
