Please join us in celebrating our outstanding Custodial Staff for the amazing work they do each day to make our schools beautiful, safe places for our students and staff!
Due to the weather forecast for Friday, Oct. 2, the Elementary PTG Walk-A-Thon has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 8.
EVERY DAY MATTERS! Attending school is important—every day matters! From now until the end of the school year, United Elementary will have random “Every Day Matters Days”. On these days, a surprise activity will be planned for students who are in attendance. Students will not know until they get to school if it is an Every Day Matters Day.
Our first two days involved creating a school-wide heart commemorating the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and an assembly with the HT High Flyers Jump Rope Team. Today was our third Every Day Matters Day. Students were surprised with the opportunity to see “extra-large” pumpkins grown by our very own students, Mason and Josiah! Students enjoyed getting an up-close look and learning about how they were grown. Thank you to their family for bringing the pumpkins to our school!

On September 23, two 8th grade teams and two 7th grade teams participated in the Indiana County Junior Envirothon at Blue Spruce Park.
The teams rotated through stations that consisted of lectures and hands-on activities about the following topics: Soil and Erosion, Forestry, Current Event, Aquatics, and Wildlife. The theme this year was "Conservation Heroes", each station talked about trail blazers in conservation, like Rachel Carson.
The teams then were administered a 20 question quiz. Congratulations to the United 8 ( White Team) for winning 1st place and United 8 ( Blue Team) for winning 3rd place. Also, the 7th United (White Team) won 3rd place.

United Elementary will join schools across the United States in observing Start With Hello Week Sept. 21-25.

Today in recognition of the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, United Elementary School joined together to create a school-wide heart to honor the lives lost, the heroes, and the strength of our nation. United Elementary LOVES the USA!
For those unable to join us in person this evening for our Hall of Fame induction ceremony and Varsity Football Home Opener against Homer Center, Renda Media will be providing a live video stream on their Youtube Channel.

You'll also see some wonderful new faces on our team—talented educators who are eager to get to know your kids and support them every step of the way.

We at United Elementary are looking forward to the start of the school year on Monday, Aug. 31. The summer staff has worked hard on the building and grounds. The playground received a new coat of paint and new swings and chains. The gymnasium floor sparkles under new LED lights. Welcome back!!!
