We have a training scholarship available, one student from each of our school districts, who has graduated within the past three years to be eligible to apply for an EMT training scholarship Also attached is a second flier that is open for anyone to apply for an EMT scholarship who resides in Indiana County.

SUN MEALS - Summer Program Information National School Lunch Program (NSLP) offers information regarding the availability and locations of free meals for students over the summer months, served through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and the Seamless Summer Option (SSO). These two programs, along with SUN Meals to Go (Rural Non-Congregate summer meals), and SUN Bucks (also known as Summer EBT), are collectively called Sun Meals. 8th grader Cameron Graham took second place in Pennsylvania in the Elks Americanism Essay Contest. Cameron wrote on the topic “What Does Patriotism Mean to Me?” The local contest was sponsored by Elks Lodge #406 in Blairsville. Blairsville Lodge Exalted Ruler, Jamie Vasas, said four other United students also placed at the district level of the Elks writing contest. 7th graders Sylvia Dillner and Samantha Uadiski, along with 8th graders Kaylan Burkett, and Sophie Mack had essays that were chosen for their writing excellence. Cameron became the 4th United student to place at the state level guided by United English teacher, Michelle Dunn and sponsored by the Blairsville lodge.

United Jr./Sr. High School Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony will occur Friday, May 30, 2025 at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium. Attendees are asked to bring their ticket. The ceremony will be streamed on the United School District Youtube Channel beginning at 6:30 PM.

Today our third grade students showcased their knowledge in the annual Pennsylvania Bee! This exciting event challenged students with trivia questions about Pennsylvania’s history, geography, famous people, and fun facts. A total of 53 students participated, and every one of them did an outstanding job! 🌟 Congratulations to our top winners: 🥇 Grand Champion: Ashley Manning 🥈 First Runner-Up: Adam Harnett 🥉 Third Place: Max Utnik 🏅 Fourth Place: Kaison Johns 🎖️ Fifth Place: Cole Lightner We’re so proud of all the students who took part in this fun and educational event. You voted and they won! Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for the 2nd Annual United Poetry Contest! The K-2 first place winner was Grace Mason, 3rd-4th grade Aurora Krupa, and in 5th -6th grade Vera Rensko! Congratulations to our winners! You make us United Proud!

United Elementary students got a glimpse into the lives of engineers who use computer science and STEM in their careers everyday. Mr. Henning hosted the Amazon Cyber Robotics Challenge. In this experience, students were transported to a virtual Amazon warehouse, where they practiced coding, computational thinking, and collaborated in a gamified coding environment. Students worked together to program an Amazon Hercules robot to achieve missions in the virtual Amazon warehouse, and competed to see who could create the most efficient coding sequences. Additionally, they were able to hear two Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship winners share about their own personal journeys into computer science.

On Thursday, May 8th, Mr. Lee's Drone Class went to the Public Safety Training Facility at WCCC. There they participated in live burn training exercises with the Bettis Nuclear Naval Fire Department. The students used the District's new thermal camera drone to help identify hotspots in the structure.
