Students in Mrs. Dishong's 1st Grade Class recently published a book called "The Adventures of Animals." During this process, the students did their own research and illustrations for their page. Carson Robertson designed and illustrated the cover of the book. After following each step of the writing process, they then submitted their work to be published.
Thank you to everyone that attended the Elementary Spring Band and Chorus Concert this evening. It was an exceptional display of our District's talented elementary musicians. Thank you to our teachers and students that put in countless hours to make us United Proud!

Another successful weather balloon launch for our Jr./Sr. High STEM students. This opportunity will allow our students to collect data and learn about temperature, wind, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, and collect great video from high above.
United family and friends! Get the word out and vote for your favorite poem! April is poetry month and we are celebrating with a contest! All students in kindergarten through 6th grade were given the opportunity to write and publish a poem for the contest! Now it is your turn to pick your favorite poems. Simply click on the link below and read the poems; then select your favorite on the google form. One winner will be selected from each grade level span. Voting ends on May 2nd and the winners will be announced on the morning announcements.

Four United High School students were recognized for excellence in writing by the Indiana Gazette this spring. 8th graders Austin Rahn and Braden Roddy, and 7th graders Jackson Beaver and Shana Garland placed in the Newspapers in Education column writing contest held by the newspaper.
Austin Rahn won first place in 8th grade for his persuasive essay about changing the electoral college. Braden Roddy won second place with his essay on why students should have a study hall after lunch.
Jackson Beaver took first place in the 7th grade division with his essay on why younger children should not play violent contact sports. Shana Garland finished second with her essay about how social media is making people less social.
Each of the four United students had their essays published in the Gazette’s Newspapers in Education edition.

To celebrate Earth Day, United Elementary Science Club spent the morning prior to the school day cleaning up the nature trail around the school. Thank you to our students for representing our school and making our community a better place.
Congratulations to Hannah Rudnik (Flute) and Anna St. Clair (Clarinet) on earning their spot in two of the highest honor ensembles in the state, All-State Concert Band, and All-State Wind Ensemble. The 2025 PMEA All-State conference was held in the Poconos. Earning a spot in an All-State ensemble is a monumental accomplishment. Congratulations you two!

FBLA is currently in Hershey, Pennsylvania, for the 74th Annual PA FBLA State Leadership Conference. Yesterday was a full, long day of competitions and the opening session. Hannah Rudnik, who competed in the event of Visual Design, has made it to the final round of competition. She competes early this morning. There were 50 groups competing in this event and Hannah was one of 12 selected as a finalists.
A special thank you to Mr. Brad Holuta and Mr. Russell Bopp from Marcus & Mack for meeting with our Sr. High students this morning about the dangers of distracted driving and how to be a responsible driver.
