On March 5, United Elementary School sent three teams to compete in the Regional STEM Design Challenge in Elderton. Each team was tasked with using Knex to create a prototype of their own, original solution to a problem affecting traffic, infrastructure, and/or urban development. Our students competed in a field of 38 teams from 8 school districts. Thank you to these students for representing our school so well, and making us proud! A special congratulations to our team of 6th graders (Andrew Buchkoski, Madelyn Oliver, and Ona Sisitiki) who placed first in the 6th to 8th grade division. They will now advance to the state competition in Harrisburg this May.
