United Elementary Student Council will be collecting non-perishable food items and paper products for our neighbors in need. Paper products include items such as paper towels. toilet paper, aluminum foil, and sandwich baggies. All of the items collected will be donated to our local food pantry.
In the past, our school's generosity has been greatly appreciated. This year, if you are able, please consider donating. Together we can make a difference!

Kindergarten had their own cookie election today! Each student sampled a frosted sugar cookie, Oreo cookie, and a chocolate chip cookie and went to the voting booth to cast their vote on the cookie ballot. After looking at the results and placing them on a graph, the winners were...Mrs. Erwin's room- chocolate chip, Mrs. Orr's room- frosted sugar cookie, and Mrs. Staruch's room- frosted sugar cookie.











On Monday, United Elementary School celebrated their PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Student Kick-Off with games, lessons, and prizes to help build a positive school environment for our students and staff.

United Elementary School would like to extend an invitation to our local veterans and active duty military members to attend a Veteran's Day Assembly on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
United Elementary is looking forward to showing our veterans and current servicemen and women that we are “UNITED” in our honor and appreciation for them.
Due to limited seating, the performance is only open to veterans, current military, and one or two of their guests. If you are able to attend, please contact our school office by calling (814)446-5615, extension 1312, by the morning of November 8, 2024.

Emergency crews will be on site this morning at both buildings helping the administration conduct emergency drills. This is a planned exercise and represents no cause for alarm.

The United School District has implemented the use of the Link-It! Data Warehouse (https://www.linkit.com/) as a database for teachers to access student data relating to literacy, benchmark assessments, and State testing scores.
On October 24th, we will be offering Link-It! Parent Portal Training at 5:30 p.m. both virtually and onsite at the United Jr./Sr. High School Library. Parent account access will be shared so parents can access their child's academic data.

School Bus Safety Week - October 21-25


As part of United School District’s STEM Partnership Initiative, students in grades 5 - 12 had the opportunity to tour Komatsu in Homer City. This experience allowed students to learn about different career opportunities in the workforce and how our district’s initiatives in STEM align with employer expectations.











Thank you to everyone that planned, sponsored, attended, and participated in the United School District's 1st Annual Invention Convention. The event was a great success and highlighted our amazing students and their creative minds and academic abilities.










Teen Driver Safety Week - October 20-26


Members from United's ATHENA club attended the 2024 ATHENA Emerging Women Leaders Luncheon. Returning Senior club members had the opportunity to apply for the Spadafora Family ATHENA Scholarship. The scholarship is open to high school seniors from Indiana Country ATHENA clubs.
Congratulations to Ashlynn Brendlinger, the recipient of the 2024 Spadafora Family Athena Scholarship.
Marissa Bowers and Sarah Marshall were also recognized as scholarship finalists and each received a $250 scholarship.

The United High School Senior Class is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, October 23rd in the High School Main Gym.
Blood supplies are critically low, and every pint of blood donated helps benefit our seniors with a scholarship from the American Red Cross. Appointments are required to attend.
