The Lion was feeling a bit exhausted from all the love and high-fives, but after a thorough checkup, Nurse Brady confirms our mascot is in tip-top shape. Good thing, too, because there are only 8 days left until school starts! 🎒📚
Thank you, Nurse Brady, for keeping our number one fan ready for the new school year!

We are officially 9 days away from the start of the new school year, and our talented high school musicians are working hard out on the field to perfect their half-time shows, the stand tunes, and formations. The Band is bringing incredible energy to get ready for Friday night lights and school assemblies.

We are proud to announce the inductees into the 2026 Class of the United School District Hall of Fame.
Please join us on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 6:15 PM prior to our Football Game against Homer Center at Thomas J. Madill Field where we will recognize these outstanding individuals.

Look who stopped by band practice to help lay down the beat! 🦁🐾
Our very own United School District Lion Mascot decided to trade in the cheering for some drumsticks, joining our amazing percussion section as they fine-tune their cadences. The energy is high, the rhythms are tight, and the band is sounding incredible as they gear up for the new school year.
We are working hard and cannot wait to show you what we've been practicing when everyone returns to the hallways in just 10 days!

To celebrate, our mascot spent some time on the practice field today catching up with our talented majorettes. From band camp to the first day of classes, the pride and dedication of our students are already shining bright.

It's almost time to return to The Den for the 2026-2027 school year.
Please refer to the 2026-2027 School Calendar for important dates during this upcoming year.

The hallways are quiet for now, but we are counting down the minutes until they are filled with the energy, smiles, and pride of our amazing students.
Let's make this countdown count!

Please review the attached Pennsylvania Free and Reduced Price School Meals Income Guidelines and Household Application for the 2026–2027 school year.
Our district participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which allows all students to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of household income. While no application is required for your child to receive free meals, it is very important that families who meet the income guidelines still complete the Pennsylvania Household Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals.
Submitting an application, if your household qualifies, provides important benefits:
1. Free Chromebook Insurance – Students who qualify for Free and Reduced Price Meals are eligible to receive Chromebook insurance coverage at no cost.
2. Additional Funding for Our Schools – The number of approved Free and Reduced Price Meal applications helps determine the amount of state and federal funding the United School District receives. These funds support instructional programs, student services, and other resources that directly benefit our students.
If your household meets the attached income guidelines, please complete the application. You can submit it in any of the following ways:
-Complete the application through PowerSchool eCollect.
-Return the attached paper application to your child's school.
-Use the paper copy that will be sent home with students.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to complete this important application if your family is eligible. Your participation helps provide valuable resources and opportunities for all students in the United School District.

The classroom may be quiet right now, but the United Lion is already bursting with excitement for everyone to arrive. Spotted sitting right on the alphabet rug by the letter L—fittingly for a Lion—and holding a mini-me plush companion, our mascot is officially counting down the days until students fill the hallways with energy, laughter, and school pride once again!

Our favorite United School Lion Mascot was spotted in the main office today helping out! From organizing files to spreading school spirit, our mascot is working hard alongside our wonderful Elementary Guidance Counselor, Ms. Frazer, and our amazing elementary secretaries to get everything perfectly ready for our students' return. We can't wait to see all of our students back in the hallways very soon. Let’s make it a fantastic year, Lions! 💙✨
